The Rangers' Ryan Callahan Looks to Continue His 5 Game Point-Scoring Streak

NY Rangers @ Toronto Maple Leafs

Air Canada Center, 7:00 p.m.

Rangers Record: 4-4-1

Maple Leafs Record: 5-3-1

Tonight, October 30th, the Rangers take on the Toronto Maple Leafs at the Air Canada Center. The Rangers, coming off a tough loss to the Hurricanes last night, look rebound back from their current two-game losing streak.

Despite the losses, the Rangers’ Ryan Callahan has a five game point-scoring streak and has scored a goal in each of the past three games. In the absence of team leaders Marian Gaborik, Chris Drury and Vinny Prospal, though the Rangers have not been winning, they have certainly been scoring. The Rangers have scored a solid 10 goals over the last three games, and need only to tighten up their defense to start again on the winning track. Derek Boogard is also out with an injury, and it will be up to the Rangers’ young core to secure the win.

The Leafs have not played since Thursday when they were utterly bested in a shutout against the Bruins. They look to reassert their dominant season with a decisive win over an Original Six rival. Forward Colby Armstrong is out with a finger injury, but otherwise the Leafs are healthy and ready to go.

This is already the third meeting of the season for the Rangers and Leafs, who have split the first two games. It will be interesting to see how the two teams, whose most recent game was just over a week ago, will use what they’ve learned about their respective opponent to their advantage. Look to see an exciting match-up, as Original Six games always are.
