Tomorrow afternoon, Apr. 3, the Rangers travel to Philadelphia to take on the Flyers. The Rangers, riding a two-game losing streak, look to strengthen their playoff position with a win. The Rangers currently sit in eighth place after the Buffalo Sabres picked up a point on Saturday night, and only lead the ninth-place Carolina Hurricanes by a single point. The Flyers are currently sitting in second place in the Eastern Conference, after being overtaken for the top spot by the Washington Capitals on Saturday.

This is the final meeting of the regular season between the Flyers and the Rangers. Their most recent match-up was a seven-goal explosion by the Rangers at home. That game, however, was the Rangers’ only win against the Flyers this season, as Philadelphia took the first four games of the season series. 

On Saturday, the Rangers assigned forward Mats Zuccarello to the Connecticut Whale. With essentially the entire lineup back to health (save long-term injuries to forwards Derek Boogaard, Chris Drury and Alex Frolov), there was no need to carry an extra forward. Zuccarello has been struggling as of late, and hopefully a stint with the Whale will be just what he needs to get into playoff form.

The Flyers are dealing with injuries to forwards Ian Laperriere and Jody Shelley and defenseman Oskars Bartulis. In response, they called up defenseman Danny Syvret from their AHL affiliate Adirondack Phantoms.
