The New York Rangers have decided to let six players develop elsewhere going forward.

Their AHL affiliate will receive five young talents, including Michael St. Croix, who was the talk of the Rangers’ developmental last season.


Defense (1):    Brendon Nash

Forward (4):     Ryan Bourque, Josh Nicholls, Shawn O’Donnell, Michael St. Croix


The Rangers have decided to part ways with goalkeeper Johan Hedberg, and have released him.


This leaves the NY Rangers with these active players on their roster:               


Goal (3):           Martin Biron, Henrik Lundqvist, Cam Talbot

Defense (13):  Conor Allen, Stu Bickel, Michael Del Zotto, Justin Falk, Dan Girardi, Tommy Hughes, Aaron Johnson, Ryan McDonagh, Dylan McIlrath, John Moore, Marc Staal, Anton Stralman, Danny Syvret

Forward (23):   Arron Asham, Brian Boyle, Derick Brassard, Ryan Callahan, Derek Dorsett, Jesper Fast, Carl Hagelin, Micheal Haley, Marek Hrivik, Michael Kantor, Chris Kreider, Danny Kristo, Oscar Lindberg, Brandon Mashinter, J.T. Miller, Dominic Moore, Rick Nash, Benoit Pouliot, Darroll Powe, Taylor Pyatt, Brad Richards, Andrew Yogan, Mats Zuccarello


The Rangers have four pre-season games left next week, at Calgary, at Edmonton, at Vancouver and vs Los Angeles in Las Vegas.

The season starts October 3rd vs the Coyotes in Pheonix.
