How far will the Rangers get this season?

No Apologies
The Rangers won is all that matters

So the Los Angeles Kings did not get to sweep the New York Rangers in 4 games and there is no denying that the Kings dominated the Rangers for a good share of the game. Heck they owned the Rangers in the 3rd period and if not for the efforts of Henrik Lundqvist, this would be the obituary for the Ranger’s playoff run.

But you know what? The Rangers won 2-1 is what is going in the record books and who cares if they barely survived the 3rd period? Don’t apologize for the way this game turned out just take the win, catch your breath and get ready to hopefully do it again on Friday.

Enjoy that the Kings are flying back to Los Angeles with empty hands and that they did not get to skate around Madison Square Garden ice with the Stanley Cup. Take my word for it as it is one of the worst feelings that a fan can have watching someone else having a victory party in your house.

The Rangers get to live another game and to be honest this corner is not going to care that the Kings dominated the Rangers. When it mattered the most it was the King of New York who stood up and showed why he is one of the best goalies not only in the NHL but in the entire world.

I know I don’t have a problem saying that Henrik Lundqvist is a future Hall of Famer and one day we will watch them raise the number “30” up to the top of Madison Square Garden to take his rightful place with the other retired jerseys.

As for Friday, who knows maybe the Rangers have some tricks up their sleeve or the 3rd period was the Ranger’s version of “Rope a Dope” (See Ali/George Foreman in Zaire if you don’t know what this is) and now the Rangers have the Kings right where they want them.

Stranger things have happened you know.
